Long-time professor of history at Indiana University. After earning his B.A. at I.U., Prof. Woodburn went on to become an instructor in the Preparatory School, serving in this role from 1879-1886. During this time, he also earned his A.M. and left to pursue his Ph. D. at Johns Hopkins University, which he received in 1890.
